Ladder54 firefighters work a 24 hour shft. We work approximately 9 to 10 days per month. Or, looking at it another way, we are on-duty approximately 52 hours per week. We have one Kelly Day per month which is a mandatory day off for hours of work reduction. There are several different fire department schedules and we use the "modified Detroit" style. The majority of ladder54.com is B Shift personnel. There are also several A Shift firefighters members. C Shift you ask? Well, you'd have to work here to understand that one. :) (j/k)
